swap out the espresso with earthy matcha to make this classic macchiato flavored with a touch of sweetness and gingerbread spice for a holiday feel.

ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon terra matcha organic culinary matcha
  • 2 oz hot water (~176°F/80°C)
  • 1/4 teaspoon gingerbread spice
  • gingerbread cookies, crushed for topping (optional)

directions:

  1. heat up the milk and honey in a milk frother.
  2. whisk together the sifted matcha and gingerbread spice with hot water in a small bowl using a bamboo whisk.
  3. pour the prepared matcha into an espresso cup and top with only the foam of the frothed milk.
  4. sprinkle the crushed gingerbread cookies if desired and serve immediately.
  5. enjoy!
